Plastic Bags (2014)

Procrastination is the guilty weakness of human work. It was this idea of procrastination and avoidance of my own tasks that I used to challenge myself to create a basis for my work. The banality of the plastic bags interested me one day, as they sat gathering, forming a mountain in my room, when they should really have been disposed of properly. I gathered the bags, took to the studio and then invited people around from nearby studios to stop their own work and create some sculptures from the bags in my room. I photographed and documented the resulting sculptures, made from others own avoidance of their works, and in doing so, created my images.
